Writing for Salikon
Just about anyone can write for Salikon. Or send her a picture one has made or one just likes (unfortunately she does not posess a scanner, so You will have to send pictures over the Internet). Since Salikon is supposed to be a sort of catalyst for creating the first thing You should think about is not to feel any sort of anguish because of prestige. Salikon likes everyone at the bottom of her heart - even if it does not always seem so - and contributions can be long or short, intelligent or stupid, ugly or beautiful or good looking, fun or boring, Your own or somebody else4s (just ask for permission first, please), angry or happy or both at the same time, poems, essays, a note about something You noticed on the bus, diaries, political articles, chronicles, serial stories, facts, fiction or just about anything. Salikon permits herself to refuse publishing something if she for some reason finds it utterly unsuiting, but then that would have to be very utterly unsuiting. At the moment she can not even come to think of an example of what would be found to be just that. Instead of Salikon excluding what she might not agree with, there will be possibilities for comments and discussions after every article/ picture (not yet though, but there will be). Salikon might also comment on it, in her ows special way. If You write something sexist or racist, for example, You might get published but must also be prepared to take the blow. Anyway, the feedback is not there to scare You but to give You a chance to see what other people think and to give other people a chance to see what You think and maybe get some new insights. Hopefully to get You going and start delivering even more of Your creations as well!
Important days and months
There is supposed to be four issues a year of Salikon. A reminder of the deadline for the next coming issue will be sent out two months before that issue is released. Deadline is one month before publication. That is: If issue no.1 is released on August 1, Salikon sends a reminder of the deadline for no.2 on September 1. The deadline then, is on October 1, and no.2 arrives on November 1. The reminder message will be sent to those who have previously been writing for Salikon, and to You if You want it and send Your e-mail address to
[email protected].
Write Forgetmenot on the Subject line in the mail.
